Transport

The 129 is a local Ashby to Loughborough bus service stopping at the villages and towns of Lount, Newbold,  Peggs Green, Griffydam, Osgathorpe, Belton, Shepshed and Nanpantan. The service is provided by Leicestershire County Council and operated by Paul S Winson. Bus stops in Griffydam can be found on Top Road near the Tentas junction and opposite Batsons Court.

Church

The Chapel in the Valley is a Wesleyan Reform Church built in 1858 and located on Rempstone Road in Griffydam. There are 2  Sunday services each week at 10am and in the evening at 6pm.  The Chapel also hosts a Chat Cafe every Thursday at 3pm, and a weekly  Village Tots group every Thursday 1.15-3pm for mothers and carers with their pre-school children. Mobile

Library

The mobile library  is run by Leicestershire County Council and provides free books and library services to communities in Leicestershire without a library.

 

Visits to Griffydam are every fourth Wednesday of the month at approximately 14.00-14.45 opposite the school playing field on Top Road. 

Post Office Shop

The closest post office/shops are in the nearby villages of Worthington and Coleorton. As well as postal, vehicle tax and travel insurance/exchange services, they also have greeting cards, newspapers and a small range of groceries for sale. Coleorton post office also has a licence to sell alcohol.
